Selects Hockey Development teams from North America and Sweden participated in the highly competitive Tretiak Cup in Moscow, Russia on August 6-9, 2015. Apart from their five games at the Yantar Ice Hockey facility, SHD players were able to experience a Russian circus, a KHL hockey game, a tour of the Kremlin, and the famous Red Square in Moscow. The Tretiak Cup gives players a taste of international competition and provides them with the chance to interact with some of the most talented young players in Russia.

The Tretiak Cup is named for Vladislov Tretiak, a Russian hockey legend who is highly regarded as one of the greatest goalies in the history of the sport. Tretiak won three Olympic gold medals as the goaltender for the Soviet Union in the 70’s and 80’s. He also won the silver medal in Lake Placid in 1980 and was the starting goalie against the United States in the Miracle on Ice game. Tretiak was the General Manager of the Russian 2010 Winter Olympic Team and is currently the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation.
